Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 - - May 7, 2010 in the USA) was an American performer and actress. She appeared in films in the 1940s as well as the 1950s[2] and in television shows during the 1950s and 1960s. With the professional name Adele St. Mara, she was signed to Columbia Pictures[citation neededand began to work working in the studio's "B" features and comedy shorts. Soon, this was shortened to Adele Mara. One of her first roles was as a receptionist in the Three Stooges film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks portrayed the sisters in Rita Hayworth's character in Fred Astaire's film You Were Never Lovelier. In Alias Boston Blackie (1942) she is the lead female role, as the sister of an escaped and falsely condemned prisoner. She transferred to Republic Pictures after her Columbia contract was cancelled. She was employed in the genre of westerns as well as outdoor adventure. The actress appeared in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch starring John Wayne, Angels in Exile (leading ladies), Sands of Iwo Jima (John Wayne's love interest), California Passage (leading ladies) and Don Siegel's Count the Hours(supporting role).
