Ina Garten has been an acclaimed American cook book author over the decades. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa that began in 2002. Ina began working for the White House as a writer of documents on nuclear energy and also the budget. In the beginning, she found her work as stimulating intellectually, but eventually lost interest and purchased a tiny speciality store for food called Barefoot Contessa. Before selling the business, she spent an entire 18 years transforming it into a highly successful store. Numerous different cookbooks and magazines followed. Meanwhile, her Food Network television show too made its debut and became a huge success. Her range of items spans from cooking equipment, to food items as well as storage containers. Ina has never attended a cookery school nor worked in a dining establishment. Her education is completely self-taught. Her easy-going approach to entertaining and her easy cooking style are well known. Her most well-known recipes include simple recipes such as Skillet Baked Lemon Chicken Macaroni, Cheese and made with beef Bourguignon, and Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts.
